Window Casing Drywall






A drywall window return is used on windows where no trim will be installed. in some cases, a windowsill will be installed while the sides and top are finished in drywall. this is a fairly common. How to install window casing when the drywall and jamb are uneven.. Any of the casing and still use the 1/2 in drywall . install the drywall and just tap around the edges to compress it a tiny amount around the frame of the window. it needs to fit tight against the window frame, you can just caulk along the backsides if there's a gap. when posting in forums, letting.

Twenty years ago, i used drywall returns on the windows and doors in my own house as an experiment. i ended up applying casing around the opening, but beneath is still the drywall on the wall and the drywall extension jambs. on seven patio doors and 24 windows there is only one small crack in a drywall return.. Windows with no trim are the ultimate in modern finishes. they look so good and if you are a fan of clean lines, these style of windows will make your home take on that modern look.. However, houses with a more contemporary look of sleek lines and little trim could benefit from finishing the bottom of the window with drywall instead of wood..
