How To Tell How Old A Snake Shed Is

Shedding is vital to your snake's health and to his growth if he's a youngster. knowing when he's about to shed gives you a chance to help make his shedding easier -- and it enables you to know it's time to leave the creature alone for a bit.. As a snake grows, they periodically need to shed their old skin to accommodate their larger body. when it’s time, a shedding snake will try to snag a piece of their old skin on a tree branch or rock and slither out of it. for most snakes, that’s that. but for rattlesnakes, each time an old skin is shed, a new rattle is added.. Put your snake between several layers of paper towels. if your snake is struggling to shed on its own, you may have to assist. get several layers of paper towels damp. then, remove your snake from its shed and place it between the towels. allow your snake to crawl and squirm between the towels..
